Open Call Project

Equipped with the open source technology developed by Graffiti Research Lab and instructed remotely by its founders James Powderly and Evan Roth, Scotiabank Nuit Blanche will produce Toronto’s very own Mobile Broadcast Unit. Led by Toronto artists Matthew Lee Vincent and Joyce Lau, the MBU enables participants to write and draw with laser light thereby equipping them with the tools for urban communication and means to reclaim public space. This transitory medium leaves no mark and causes no physical harm. All surfaces are rendered ripe for intervention.
